If becoming a makeup artist, beauty salon owner or beauty image consultant has seemingly been a dream too far from reach, then allow Vogue Beauty College to turn your dreams into reality! With eight campuses located throughout Texas and New Mexico, Vogue Beauty College offers six certification programs, including comprehensive courses in cosmetology, manicuring, and skin care. Its full 1,500-hour course in cosmetology includes haircutting and styling, shampooing/hair-scalp treatments, hair coloring and highlighting, chemical hair relaxing and perming, facial treatments, hair removal/waxing, makeup application, manicuring and pedicuring, artificial nails, and salon management.

Vogue Beauty College owner, Charles Oman stressed the significance of targeting training prior to licensure, which sets the school apart from others. “Most school programs take the full 1,500 hours before the written exam; we think it’s important to get the state written exam behind (students) after 1,000 training hours, so they can concentrate on their career. The last 500 hours are dedicated to giving students prolonged skills to go directly into the job market.”

Gaining practical training in a clinical setting, students enrolled in Vogue Beauty College’s cosmetology program must qualify in three of the six certification programs to become fully certified cosmetologists. “Vogue Beauty College far exceeds any accreditation requirements because we’ve spent 15 years developing these specialties,” explains Oman. “We do extra work, so the student can become certified.”

Vogue Beauty College’s 600-hour course in manicuring involves hands-on training in basic manicure and pedicure, application of artificial nails (fiberglass nails, gel nails, tips and wraps), hand and arm massage, paraffin treatments, oil manicure, French manicure, stain removal, repair work, and salon management.

The skin care/esthetician program entails 750 course hours with an in-depth curriculum in anatomy and physiology, facial treatments, facial massage, makeup application, color psychology, hair removal/waxing, aromatherapy, microdermabrasion, extractions, eye tabbing/eyebrow and eyelash tinting, client care, chemistry, client care, salon management, and other related studies.

Licensed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations as a private school, Vogue Beauty College participates in the Sallie Mae Loan program, as well as in-house scholarships and long-term financing options.

When asked if “anyone” can enroll, Oman explained “Not just anyone…but we will work with and accept students who demonstrate a strong desire to become professionals.” Additionally, he adds, “We not only give onsite tours, we encourage students to spend some time on campus to get a feel for the environment before applying.”

As an added incentive, Vogue Beauty College boasts its career services through a 40-hour job-ready training program, full and part-time studies (both evenings and days), and convenient Spanish and English programs. As a vital contributor to humanitarian efforts, Vogue Beauty College proudly participates in the Lost Children Program, whereby all income earned on May 25 is donated to this critical fund.

SpaBeautySchools.com recognizes Vogue Beauty College and applauds its quality standards in cosmetology and esthetics training.

Searching for innovative career training in some of the fastest-growing professions today? Empire Beauty Schools introduces candidates to the dynamic world of cosmetology, nail technology, and even teacher training. As one of the largest educational providers of Cosmetology Training in North America, the Empire Education Group prides itself with its rich 70-year history and over 87 schools throughout 18 states; and one affiliate school in Japan. Thirty-seven Empire Beauty Schools offer hands-on training in the aforementioned studies, while affiliate schools in the Empire Education Group provide Esthetics and Makeup programs as well.

The cosmetology program at Empire Beauty Schools extends in-depth training using the CLiC methodology. “CLiC is Certified Learning in Cosmetology” explains John Dalton, director of communications at Empire Beauty Schools. “It’s a really unique way of teaching — very visual, lots of diagrams, photography. It lays out all the fundamentals and aspects of cosmetology. Each book [in the program] covers hair cutting, nails, hair coloring, and Success Dynamics.” Dalton boasts the program’s success, “We’ve been hearing a lot of good things. Success Dynamics (part of CLiC) teaches you how to sell yourself and your services, helps to build you as a better individual, and prepares candidates to become successful cosmetologists.”

In the cosmetology program, students are introduced to a visually stimulating educational platform, with instruction in hair cleansing, cutting and styling techniques, color and texture services, basic skin care, makeup, and business development, among other associated studies. While training hours vary from state to state, students who apply themselves can easily complete the cosmetology program in under a year’s time.

“The uniqueness of attending Empire Beauty Schools is that we’re the only ones who offer the CLiC methodology special testing – (graduates) become certified through this particular training,” says Dalton.

“If your interest is more directed toward becoming a professional nail technician, then the nail technology program at Empire Beauty Schools provides hands-on training in manicures, nail art, pedicures, sculpting, silk/fiberglass wraps, and much more.

Additional training options at Empire Beauty School include programs in esthetics, makeup, and teacher training for the professional cosmetologist. “Every student has the possibility of financial assistance,” says Dalton. Whether prospective students choose to enroll in Georgia, Pennsylvania or any one of the other 16 States, Empire Beauty Schools gives candidates essential skills and training to become a professional entrepreneur in the field.

Dalton emphasized Empire Beauty Schools’ commitment to its students and graduates, “We have a job placement center. In Pennsylvania, for instance, students coming close to the end of their studies find that many places will hire them into apprenticeship programs. One of the neat things about the cosmetology industry,” Dalton mentioned, “is that it’s an in-demand job.”

Pursuing a career in nail technology or cosmetology is a smart move, affirms the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. With promising , job opportunities, the field “will be best for those with previous experience and for those licensed to provide a broad range of services.”

Aside from excellent cosmetology training opportunities, Empire Beauty Schools offers an exciting and unique two-day event — an annual National Competition and Hair Show. Boasting four competitions, Dalton explains, “Every school holds a local competition and winners go onto compete in the national level. Judges (including the National Director for Education) come from all over the United States.

At Empire Beauty School, it’s all about working hard toward the same goal, together. “Empire Beauty Schools is family owned, and very family oriented with an open-door policy. Our operations and communications teams can positively turn things around for students in a relatively short period of time.”

Is a career in cosmetology or nail technology in your future? Achieve your professional goals now – visit Empire Beauty Schools and join the fast-growing field of beauty and Hair Design.

Candidates seeking Beauty Industry careers find that Bay Vista Beauty Academy in National City, California offers quality education, diversity, and serenity. Encompassing nearly 6,000 square foot campus, Bay Vista Beauty Academy combines all the working amenities of a high-class Salon and school: a facial room, clinic area, student lunchroom, equipped freshman room, and reception area. According to Patricia Mayhue, Placement Director of Bay Vista Beauty Academy, the school’s facilities are top-notch. “The Academy has three classes — the newest is the Makeup artistry classroom — and students have marble and stone vanities that fold down as desk workstations.” In fact, she believes potential students will be so impressed by the offerings, they should make a visit to the school to help in their decision. “Anytime anyone wants to tour the facility, we are very proud of the way it looks and happy to show it off,” she says.

The cosmetology program at Bay Vista Beauty Academy consists of 1,600 clock hours, which includes the “Pivot Point” curriculum. “By being a Pivot Point member school, we use the very best educational materials, programs, and systems for every facet of the beauty industry,” says Mayhue. Students in this course of study learn hands-on, scientific approaches to hair sculpturing in men and women, Hair Design, long hair design, perm design, and color design. In addition, Bay Vista Beauty Academy was recently approved for Cosmetology 102 course, which combines the cosmetology program with 150 hours in makeup design and makeup artistry.

Bay Vista Beauty Academy’s manicuring program consists of 400 classroom/clinical hours and includes in-depth instruction in artificial nails (acrylic, tips, wraps), manicuring, pedicuring, health, safety, sanitation, and applicable laws. “We’ve recently expanded the nail tech program, which meets all needs of traditional spas,” Mayhue continue. It’s definitely something we like to have in cosmetology — to align with individuals that share the same goal; these memberships support that vision of raising the bar in schools.”

Overall, Mayhue emphasizes Bay Vista Beauty Academy’s reputation: “The staff is very dedicated and that adds to the facility. We’re very progressive and we all have the students’ education at heart. It’s the quality of education that makes us different: the design team, community involvement, and soundness of our education. The reputation of this school sells itself.”

Students interested in fast-growing professions of beauty and natural health will find that Beauty Schools of America — boasting four campus locations in the Greater Miami area — offers future cosmetologists, barbers, salon managers, massage therapists and estheticians one of the most up-to-date standards of learning.

“Each training environment is designed to mirror a cutting-edge, high-end salon, spa, or barbershop,” explains Beauty Schools of America’s President John Rebstock. “Students train and work on clientele in an upscale environment to raise expectation levels of working in the field. All of our classrooms offer multimedia training, wired with Internet, projectors, and TV monitors. We are hands-on, visual, and extend an upbeat training environment. We do what it takes to get them (students) engaged to make the best students can be.”

While all training programs result in diplomas, there are various subjects of study from which to choose: If hair styling is your niche, then Beauty Schools of America provides a comprehensive 1,200-hour cosmetology program. In that program, boasts Rebstock, students learn every kind of hair service. In addition, trainees will learn basic skin care, nail service (manicuring, pedicure), makeup and more.

And, when it comes to Beauty Schools of America’s barbering program, Rebstock explains, “it’s a phenomenon. We just started it and the reception has been very good.” Involving 1,200 hours of in-depth training, the course teaches students cutting-edge techniques to become successfully licensed barbers.

Additonal programs include the 240-hour nail technology program offered at Beauty Schools of America, which teaches basic manicuring, pedicuring, and nail extensions on the market, including air brush nail art. For those drawn to makeup artistry, Beauty Schools of America provides its popular, 300-hour makeup artist/skin care specialist program where students learn about special effects, latex, airbrushing, and spray tanning.

In addition, the opportunity exists for students to gain education and training through its 900-hour full specialist salon management program. This course of study involves much of the aforementioned studies, including makeup artistry and nail technology.

Taking one step further in educational prospects, Beauty Schools of America gives students the opportunity to participate in its 625-hour massage therapist program. “Our massage therapist educators were leaders of the Mandarin Oriental Spa,” says Rebstock. This gives massage therapist graduates options to return to the school to learn additional Eastern massage modalities.

Offering both full and part-time educational studies, Beauty Schools of America is accredited, which means that students who qualify for financial aid are eligible to participate in one of many financial aid programs, including guaranteed Stafford Loans, PELL grants, Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants, and more.

“Accreditation ensures that the level of training is up to par. The equipment is more than adequate, and our staff all hold correct licensure,” Rebstock adds. “Completion rates are good in comparison to all comparable schools in the nation, with a very low dropout percentage, and good graduation and state board passing rate.” Additionally, Beauty Schools of America is approved for veteran’s training, Bright Futures scholarships, in-house financing (no interest), and I20 Visa through the Department of Homeland Security.

In-depth career development services are also offered through Beauty Schools of America: “When students are almost ready to graduate, we involve them with a lot of outside events; we take pictures and help them create portfolios,” says Rebstock. “We encourage students to research the job market and get to know the salon market through field trips. We want them to become as much as an expert on the salon for which they want to work.”

Furthermore, Rebstock elaborates on the Beauty Schools of America’s policy on prerequisites: “If they (students) have a desire to work with people, are hands-on visual learner, have an open mind, are receptive to change, and have a passion for the industry, we will do whatever it takes to get (students) through the industry.”

Rebstock is also quite proud of the school’s involvement in major events. “Our students are extremely active in community grassroots programs, which have provided makeup artistry and hairstyling for famed singer/songwriter, Shakira, the Latin Grammy Block Party, Ms. Black Teen USA, and the Florida Marlins’ Cheerleaders.”

SpaBeautySchools.com recognizes Beauty Schools of America and applauds its instrumental role in providing quality career training in cosmetology, beauty, salon management and massage therapy. If you would like more information about this fine school, please visit Beauty Schools of America today.
